Successful Launch of Churchfields Dementia Cafe at Witney Library
Churchfields Care Home held its first Dementia Cafe at Witney Library and it was a lovely, positive afternoon.

Residents, relatives and local community members came along for a relaxed couple of hours that mixed activities like flower arranging, quizzes and puzzles with open conversations about dementia. The format worked really well, giving people the chance to connect with others who understand what they are going through.

And of course, there was plenty of tea, cake and biscuits to keep everyone going throughout!

The team would like to give a special mention to Age UK Oxfordshire, whose support was a big part of making the afternoon such a success.

One resident’s daughter-in-law commented:

“It’s was really enjoyable, good group discussions, plenty of activities and we even had a sing along! Thanks for the tea and cake. Would highly recommend”

The dementia cafe now runs on the first Monday of every month at Witney Library, so if you or someone you know would benefit from coming along, the team at Churchfields would love to see you there.
