Welcome to our new Home Manager – Chris!

14 years have flown by, but I have loved every minute of my career in care. Starting as a care assistant I quickly knew I’d love working in care – the highs and the lows, and my goodness there have been some recently! I actually trained to be a mechanical engineer when I left school, but redundancy led me down the caring path and I have not looked back since.

I believe my passion for making a difference helped me to progress quickly and I soon climbed the career ladder into leading care roles. I am so excited to be working with Churchfields and to familiarise myself with the care team, residents and of course, family and friends.

Care homes have unfortunately acquired a stereotypical image and many people still think that moving to a care home is the last resort. I’m here to change that perception, with the help of my brilliant care team. Churchfields is already providing outstanding care, in a beautiful setting, and as soon as you walk through the door you can sense the homely atmosphere.

There are lots of smiles, giggles and fun, with activity coordinators who go out of their way to provide inclusive activities that everyone can enjoy. We attempt to grant as many wishes as possible, from penguins to paintball, and horse riding to skydiving! We want to think outside the box when it comes to providing care.

Living life to the fullest is what I want all of our residents to do – and that can be as lively or as laid back as they wish. Our vision is to ensure our residents are at the centre of everything we do, and have a sense of purpose and belonging.

When I’m not at Churchfields, you can find me walking my dog Luna, a two year old Romanian rescue that I adopted when she was four months old. I enjoy art, going to the gym and gaming.

I hope to meet as many friends and family as possible very soon, so please pop in and ask for me. We can catch up about your loved one over a cuppa! I also look forward to engaging with the community, of which we already have so many links. I hope to feel as big as a part of Cassington as the residents.
