Sheila enjoys a convertible car ride!

One lucky resident at our care home had the ‘ride of her life’ this week as she was taken for a spin in a staff member’s convertible car.

Sheila, had noticed a staff member arrive at the home in her convertible car during the summer months, and mentioned that she would love to have a spin because she had never been in one.

Staff then organised for Sheila to have a ride with Faye, and Claire, around the Oxfordshire countryside, and finishing with a drive through coffee!

Speaking of her exciting trip, Sheila said: “It made me feel proud to be in a lovely car. I can’t thank Faye and Claire enough for giving me the opportunity of a lifetime. I honestly felt like the queen.

“It made me feel so happy and free I couldn’t keep my arms in the car.”

“I was so excited to feel the breeze.”

Sheila was so excited about this car trip that she was awake from 2am in the morning.

Jane Roberts, owner of Churchfields Care Home, said: “It was absolutely fantastic to see that Sheila enjoyed her ride in the convertible car. This is something Sheila mentioned to us, and we are thrilled to be able to give her that experience. It was wonderful to see the happiness it created.
