Form gardening to bowling, here’s what we’ve been up to

As the summer days continue to bless us with some sunshine here and there, we have been making the most of this time engaging in some fun outdoor and indoor activities.

Everyone at Churchfields has been loving spending time in our lovely garden and reconnecting with nature while spending time with friends. Here is what we’ve been up to so far in August:

Sunshine on our minds!

August began with some lovely walks around our beautiful garden, where our residents stopped to smell the flowers and enjoyed each other’s company. Some of them also enjoyed picking ripe tomatoes from our garden beds and watching our Barry cut the lawn expertly.

Days out in the sun ended with some quality time spent on the patio where tea, cake, and conversations flowed freely. While some spent their time reading, others enjoyed some playtime with Milo, a 15-week-old sausage dog, who melted hearts and gave the best cuddles!

Let the games begin

One thing our residents love is a good game night – and we have held quite a few of them this month! Laughter filled the air as our residents brought out their inner child to play with a ball pit. Collecting balls to match nets turned into a hilarious challenge, resulting in more balls on the floor than in the nets.

Our residents also enjoyed a lively game of bowling, resulting in laughter and shared victories. Mischief ensued when a game of nerfs broke out and everyone got involved, even our chef! Some of our residents went head-to-head at the weekly pub quiz and engaged in some friendly competition.

Activities galore

Our residents attended their holy communion service given by Roger and Jane. The morning transitioned to a harmonious sing-along session that filled our home with some tunes. Later in the day, our fitness instructor Chris led another great keep fit session that left everyone feeling energised.

Some of our residents’ leisure time was spent doing creative activities like water-colour painting, puzzles, and more. Some of them also had a pamper session, courtesy of Mandy, our most talented hairdresser, who gave them lovely makeovers.

We are looking forward to the last few days of sun this August, hope you all enjoy the rest of summer with your loved ones!

With each passing day, the sense of community and friendship continues to grow at Churchfields. If you’d like to be part of our wonderful community, do drop by for a cuppa and a chat!
