Oxfordshire Care Home Owners Receive Second Outstanding Rating From The CQC Within A Month
In March, care home providers, Jane and Gerry Roberts, received Outstanding rating from CQC for both their care homes in West Oxfordshire.
For Rosebank Care Home, in Bampton, this was their second consecutive Outstanding Rating.
Churchfields Care Home in Cassington, which Jane and Gerry only took over 4 years ago, received a ‘Good’ rating 3 years ago, and has now been awarded Outstanding.
There are only 10 homes in the whole of Oxfordshire to have achieved this top rated recognition and puts both homes in the top 2% of the entire country.
Churchfields Care Home, which provides personal and nursing care, was given a glowing report by CQC Inspectors.
Churchfields achieved the highest inspection rating thanks to its ability to deliver a safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led service to residents.
The CQC commended Churchfields for having a “strong and visible person-centred culture, which ensured that staff in all roles were highly motivated and offered care and support that was exceptionally compassionate and kind.”
The report noted in its overall summary that “staff often went ‘the extra mile’ to meet people’s needs,” with one relative commenting: “I find Churchfields wonderful. It’s just like home from home, warm, welcoming for all residents and their families.”
Another resident said:
“I am deeply grateful to all the staff at Churchfields for the quality of care, attention and compassion they showed towards my father. After four months in hospital, my father wasn’t in a good shape, but after only five weeks at Churchfields he really settled in well and has made significant progress, both mentally and physically in a relatively short space of time.”
Jane Roberts, owner of Churchfields Care Home, said:
“I am absolutely thrilled that our hard working and incredibly dedicated team have gained this recognition. We have a wonderful care team at Churchfields, who share the same vision and philosophy as us. It makes provision of high-quality care everyone’s business.
“When Gerry and I took over this home, we had a vision and we wanted to make it a reality. Seeing our residents happy and living life the way they want is fulfilment of that vision.
“We have stopped at nothing to make this home the best it can be, and thereby ensuring Churchfields is a home away from home for our residents.”
Inspectors also reported that:
“Staff at all levels were passionate about their roles, showing an overwhelming commitment to ensuring people were at the heart of the service.
One staff member added: “We all challenge each other’s practice and ensure people get the best possible care in a dignified manner.”
Churchfields ongoing success has also been underlined with a ‘Top 20 Recommended Care Home 2020’ award. The awards highlight the most recommended care homes, based on review scores. Carehome.co.uk the leading UK care home review website in the UK.
