A Royal Wish Comes True for Jayne at the Tower of London
It was a wonderful day for our lovely resident Jayne at Weald Hall Care Home, who recently enjoyed a very special trip to the Tower of London to fulfil a long-held wish of seeing the Crown Jewels.
Jayne has always had a great love for the Royal Family, particularly the late Queen Elizabeth II and shares some fascinating stories and memories of the monarchy with our care team.
One of her most treasured memories is attending Queen Elizabeth II’s Coronation in 1953, when she was just 16 years old. Jayne remembers camping outside all night to secure her place and the excitement of witnessing such a historic occasion!

Making Jayne’s Royal Wish Come True
During a conversation with our team, Jayne mentioned that although she had previously visited the Tower of London to see the beautiful poppy display, she never had the opportunity to see the Crown Jewels.
Knowing how much the Royal Family means to Jayne, our team couldn’t wait to arrange a special visit for her!
Jayne was absolutely thrilled when the day arrived.
She enjoyed exploring the historic grounds, with the magnificent Crown Jewels being the highlight of her visit. Afterwards, she described the experience as “remarkable” and told our team she’d had “the best day ever.”

A Special Day Filled With Happiness
Reflecting on the trip, she explained that when you live alone, you don’t laugh as much and she talked about how much she had laughed during the day and since joining Weald Hall.
It was a heartwarming moment for our team, who were so pleased to hear how much happiness and companionship Jayne has found at the home.
At Weald Hall, we love learning about our residents’ lives and helping them keep enjoying what they’ve always been passionate about, no matter how big it is. Being able to make Jayne’s wish come true was a real pleasure for everyone involved.
It was a beautiful magic moment for our lovely Jayne, with plenty of royal memories to look back on!
